SharePoint Collaboration Architect (7863BR) Alpharetta, Georgia

The Collaboration Architect will be responsible architectural design, strategy, and support for New York Life’s collaboration tools. This position will provide architecture, design, strategy, and 3rd level support for collaboration platforms such as SharePoint (2007, 2010), eMeeting (Saba, WebEx), and Social capabilities among others. When required additional responsibilities will be to assist with the architecture and design of SharePoint solutions as required by business needs and ensuring that Collaboration designs and technologies are in compliance with corporate IT vision, strategy, principles, and standards. • Ability to operate at multiple levels and across organizations. • Remains current on industry best standards. • Assures that collaboration technology roadmaps are maintained and published • Promotes knowledge sharing both within and outside the group. • Able to review requirements and evaluate risks/benefits • Search out opportunities and new technologies to address future challenges • Develop, set and enforce standards technical documents • Work closely with the collaboration technology service delivery teams and development groups.

Applicants should be Microsoft SharePoint 2010 or SharePoint 2013 Certified and posses a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. • Minimum 4 years experience working with SharePoint architecture. Ability to design, install, configure and upgrade SharePoint system components. • Minimum 5 years’ experience developing architecture and infrastructure for enterprise implementations in the web server space. Sound knowledge of modeling and various interdependencies of SharePoint components. • Deep knowledge of SharePoint 2007 and 2010 architecture and development with extensive experience in architecting the solution, platform and infrastructure. • Hands-on experience with large production SharePoint implementations and projects. • Deep knowledge and experience of eMeeting technologies like Adobe Connect, LYNC, Saba etc. • Deep knowledge and experience with social collaboration technologies in the enterprise with platforms like Jive, SharePoint Social, Jabber, Yammer, Lithium, Mzinga etc. • Working knowledge of content management and records management concepts. • Working Knowledge of Database systems for use within the collaboration platforms dependencies including SQL Server 2008 and later. • Knowledge of networks and storage in scalable, highly available server farms and databases. • Sound knowledge of service virtualization, modeling and development best practices is required. • Knowledge of web technologies such as IIS, HTML, XML, JQuery, JavaScript, web services, and Microsoft.NET. • Experience architecting and using third party SharePoint products such as Axceler, AvePoint, K2, Metalogix, and Nintex. • Must have broad based knowledge in directory services and system security topics with understanding of Active Directory, LDAP, SSL, SSO, and SiteMinder. • Ability to rapidly learn new software and maintain competency with newer technologies. • Ability to constantly seek and acquire knowledge of emerging technologies. • Ability to estimate effort for infrastructure projects and to suggest alternative approaches. • Strong firefighting skills with the ability to troubleshoot infrastructure issues related to collaboration technologies. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Visio. • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Good written and verbal communication, organized thought processes, polite and respectful of others, adapts presentations to the audience. • Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details. • Analysis and problem solving skills and thoroughly think out and evaluate alternatives, innovative problem resolution, pro-active approach, initiative to resolve problems. • Ability to work with little direction and supervision, timely completion of projects, make time for unplanned assignments, and adapt to changing priorities.
