The Client
A position exists for an Electronics Design Engineer to join a multi disciplined engineering team responsible for the design and support of products for the road and rail industries. The role will interface and cooperate with sales, materials / procurement, manufacturing and quality therefore will require an individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. While a formal electronics qualification is desirable demonstrable practical experience and a track record of successful electronic designs are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and improve all related company products
- Produce detailed Bills of Materials
- Produce product documentation including assembly and test instructions
- Maintain existing product design and documentation when changes are required
- Provide technical assistance to customers as required
- Entry of part numbers and descriptions
- Liaison with test houses to plan and execute required testing of products
- Liaison with Far Eastern design and manufacturing partners
Person Specification
We require candidates who have good attention to detail but can work quickly, efficiently with good organisational skills. From time to time you will work alone and within a team so time management and good team ethics are important.
It is desirable that you have and understanding of the following areas;
- Test, Validation and Modification
- Familiarity with road and /or rail industry and electrical standards.
- Project planning and control/management.
- Thermal management and electronic circuitry.
- EMC design and testing.
