TEAM LEADER - NATIONAL DISABILITY HELPLINE (ALJune04) Sydney, Australia

Salary: AUD83000 - AUD95000 per annum + (salary packaging)

Our client is a leading national disability NFP providing a free confidential phone and email information and support service.

This is your next career opportunity to join the leadership team and be a pivotal part of their continued success supporting and counselling people living with disablities overseeing their national support helpline.

Objective:

  • Manage a team of national helpline operators and provide support and counselling for people living with disablities, their families and carers in becoming empowered to deal with complex and challenging issues, ensuring sensitive and responsive service delivery.

To be considered for this role, you will possess highly developed people management skills, team building and the provision of coaching, support and direction to staff. You will demonstrate high levels of emotional intelligence and the ability to inspire and motivate others, responding to varying issues in a consistent manner and exercising maturity of judgement and sound problem solving capability.

Key Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in client service delivery, providing telephone / internet based services and support within a counselling framework.
  • Experienced people manager with the ability to build, nurture and mentor your national service support team.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities as well as carers and families.
  • Previous experience within a health contact centre is a bonus.
  • Be able to respond appropriately to client in crisis - complex cases.
  • Understanding of relevant Service Systems, including MyAged Care, CHSP and the NDIS.

Qualifications:

  • Registration with, or eligibility for membership of, a relevant professional body or association (e.g. Australian Counselling Association, Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or Australia Association of Social Workers, PACFA).
