Big Data Designer/Modeller (15246556/004) Swindon, England
Working with the vendors in-house partners, the role will manage the gateway to offshore development teams by ensuring that the designs are clear, unambiguous and follow architectural best practise. It will also be accountable for ensuring the business requirements are well understood and traceable through to the end solution. This is a key role helping to define and shape the early designs and architectural patterns on a multi year programme of work which will leverage new tools and techniques to set up new data capabilities for the society.
Responsibilities
•Production of high quality technical designs for the enterprise data warehouse and big data capabilities
•Working with the architecture teams to ensure the solutions fit into the wider strategies and roadmaps for the society
•Manage the traceability of requirements through to solution design
•Manage the vendors and partners to ensure quality standards, best practise and value for money are continually evidenced
Skills & Experience
•Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar role, preferably for a financial services client
•A clear and deep understanding of IM Design/data modelling with experience of the Teradata appliance an advantage
•Exposure to and an understanding of the Hadoop big data platform with any exposure to Pig, Hive and the suite of open source tools embedded on the platform a bonus
•Experience of enterprise ETL technologies a must with Informatica preferred
•Experience of regulatory reporting for financial services client is an advantage with any exposure to BCBS239 and/or GDPR of particular interest
