Music Teacher (VC3977) Scarborough, England
Castle Education are recruiting for a talented Music Teacher to work with one of our clients from September. This would be an excellent opportunity for a strong NQT or a more experienced teacher, passionate about their subject and looking for a new role. This is a permanent part-time role.
The department has an excellent reputation for the quality of its provision, with teaching taking place in a modern, purpose built classroom with a dedicated computer suite with specialist software.
There is a fantastic opportunity in this role for the teacher to improve the already very strong results even further, in particular helping students to achieve the ‘next grade up’ and thus improve the progress made by learners. The successful applicant will therefore be highly skilled as a musician, able to provide good accurate guidance to the most talented musician students, while also being able to inspire and encourage students to develop and practise more basic practical and theoretical competence.
The right candidate will be committed, hard-working and with a desire to bring Music to life with imaginative learning activities, content targeted to the specification, and relevant well-managed assessment. You would be well supported, and would look forward to contributing to a committed hard-working team and sharing the rewards of teaching the learners.
Key skills and experience required include:
- Appropriate teaching qualification (PGCE or Cert. Ed) or willingness to pursue once in post
- Up-to-date knowledge and skills appropriate for the requirements of the subject
- Previous teaching experience
- Enthusiasm for teaching music
- Marking and monitoring pupils' work and set targets for progress; assess and record pupils' progress systematically and keep records to check work is understood and completed
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Maintaining positive behaviour management strategies
- To be able to use your own initiative
Being based in the centre of Scarborough, Castle Education are currently working with schools around the Yorkshire coast area helping them with their temporary and permanent staffing needs across a range of subjects. As a result, we are always looking to meet with great teachers, cover supervisors and teaching assistants in the Scarborough area.
