Our client, world's largest liquefied natural gas company, is urgently looking for a “Head Main Instrumentation & Control Engineer” willing to work under the following conditions:

Job Purpose

Responsible for Company stewardship of high quality and complete process engineering deliverables from FEED Contractor. Ensures that the Project’s requirements for all Instrumentation and Control engineering deliverables are fully executed by the FEED Contractor per project schedule. Stewards electrical engineering aspects of the Project with other discipline leads on the PMT, as necessary.

 

Job Context

  • Provides visible safety leadership through active participation in the NFE Onshore Project Safety Program
  • Provide Company stewardship of the FEED Contractor’s activities with respect to instrumentation and control engineering including MICC vendor selection, licensor integration, instrumentation and distributed control systems
  • Measurement and reporting of progress
  • Procurement as needed of Long Lead Items process related tagged items including preparation of specifications, bid evaluations, bid tabulations, bid recommendations, etc.
  • Comply with design methods and safety factors and margins to be used in the design project. Reviews FEED design for correctness, compliance and operability for assigned area
  • Review, evaluate and advise on instrumentation and control simulations, optimization, feasibility studies, electrical specifications, UFDs, compliance with design methods, safety factors. Reviews FEED design for correctness, compliance and operability of all controls e.g. compressor anti-surge controls

 

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Responsible for Operability of the instrumentation and controls systems of plant for start-up, normal, turndown and shutdown modes as well as abnormal operating conditions
  • Participates in Hazardous Operations (HAZOP or HAZID) reviews
  • Assists PMT in meeting QGMS expectations as required, especially Risk Assessment, Reliability and Maintenance Study, Facility Design and Construction and Management of Change
  • Tracking and reporting of lessons learned
  • Mentors and fosters the professional development of direct reports
  • Monitor implementation of vendor documentation requirements and spare parts requirements
  • Works in a highly visible project environment with large capital expenditures and significant schedule execution pressures
  • Works in a dynamic environment that has high expectations for flawless project execution in safety, quality, cost and schedule performance which requires the incumbent to demonstrate accuracy initiative and the ability to multi-task as essential skills
  • Well established awareness of policies and procedures with high expectations for business controls compliance and to further develop controls to meet changing needs

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical Engineering)

 

Knowledge and/or Experience

  • 20+ years of experience in discipline with at least 10 years demonstrated senior engineering experience in major capital projects
  • Experience with EPC contractors, sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas industry
  • Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to work with people from variety of cultural backgrounds

 

Technical and Business Skills

  • A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications
