IT Infrastructure Engineer – 3^rd Line – Midlands based

IT Infrastructure Engineer required for a leading company based in the midlands to be responsible for providing primary technical support to clients on various technical issues and problems relating to software, services and associated infrastructure. To also be responsible for responding to, documenting and resolving service tickets in a timely manner according to agreed SLAs, perform root cause analysis, develop checklists for typical problems and recommend procedures and controls for problem prevention. This position will require independent work, sharing information and assisting others with work orders.

 Note that this role is not office based. The successful candidate will be required to work from home. All relevant equipment and supplies will be provided by the company.

Key Skills

•  Previous experience with a 3^rd line Engineer/Support role
• Experience supporting the Windows desktop, Windows Server and Linux operating systems
• Good working knowledge or MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Hyper V and VMware
• Excellent working knowledge of AWS EC2
• Understanding of Development Lifecycle Principles, Understanding of Agile Project Management and IT Trouble shooting skills
• Experience supporting O365, Cisco Routers and VPN

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring the production and testing environments for all software products are maintained and the necessary backup of this system
• Perform Level 3 Customer support functions
• Perform Software installations within the Corporate Datacentre environment and occasionally on customer sites.
• Ensure all internal IT Services are functioning efficiently and outages are kept to a minimum
• To be a primary point of contact for application support, for both internal and external users, providing Level 1 through 3 support

The salary my client is offering for this position is between £30,000 and £35,000 per annum depending on experience.
