General Description
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for working in a team environment to support and enhance the development and management of the client’s managed services infrastructure line of products. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will also work with the client’s technical teams in addressing product related issues specific to the local data center. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is an expert in infrastructure solutions to include virtualization, storage, data protection, and proper system configurations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance/Administration support of the client’s Virtualization platform
- Maintenance/Administration support of the client’s Storage platform
- Maintenance/Administration of the client’s Data Protection platform
- Lead capacity Planning efforts in the client’s platforms
- Manage infrastructure projects and communicate with internal customers for change management.
- Manage and improve processes for Infrastructure Support to include creating and managing relevant documentation
- Work on services installation and provisioning overflow
- Process development and management responsibilities in relation to individual skill set.
- Primary technical on-call resource for hosting operations infrastructure (on a rotating basis as assigned);
- Backup to local teams for technical or other support as necessary;
- Maintain a working level of proficiency with all the client’s services;
- Other as assigned by your supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline and over 4 years experience or over 7 years experience and advanced industry certifications with demonstrable knowledge.
- Very strong knowledge in Cisco UCS.
- Demonstrated expert level competency in at least two disciplines (such as the VMware ESX and EMC storage).
- Very strong service skills, extremely high attention to detail, aggressive trouble-shooting skills, and strong decision-making is critical to this position
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong attention to detail, making and keeping commitments and meeting deadlines.
