Programme Manager – Halesowen

Programme Manager required for an international organisation based in Halesowen, where you will be responsible for creating and leading the national IT programme across the organisation, ensuring a close relationship with the overarching global IT programme.

Within the role, you will be a key part of an exciting transformation of IT in the organisation. Since this is a brand-new role to the organisation, there will be the opportunity to shape and flex the role over time.

Key Responsibilities of the role

• Design and operate a robust and comprehensive project/portfolio demand management process, including the identification of all regional investment ideas and global initiatives, using that to plan capital and resource demand.
• Develop criteria for priorisitation of demand within negotiated affordability to create the agreed portfolio of projects.
• Iteratively develop the levels of detail of scope, schedule, cost and resourcing throughout the project lifecycle from demand through launch to completion.
• Define and implement a resource management process, including load and capacity planning, for all key project skill groups to minimise resource bottlenecks and maximise resource utilisation.
• Form, manage and continuously develop a high-performing and collaborative team, setting objectives, managing performance, developing potential and modelling behaviours.
• Procure project deliverables from suppliers and approve associated invoices.

Key Skills of the role

• The ideal candidate will have experience of leading an the majority of the sub-functions within an IT Programme Management organisation.
• Demonstrable track record of successful project delivery, utilising both Waterfall & Agile methodologies.
• Preferably experience of implementing Agile methodologies.
• Qualified in Prince2 (or equivalent qualification), and experience of gradual implementation and maturing of project management standards within an organisation – using CMMI or similar.
• Ideally you will have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business (or a related discipline).
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Project & Excel for planning and reporting.
• Desirable to have experience of distribution, engineering, and manufacturing or MRO business.

Salary

The salary for this position is up to £60,000 per annum, plus car entitlement and additional benefits.
