Email Operations Team Leader (EM/OPS/TEA/LEA/LON) London, England

Salary: GBP45000 - GBP50000 per annum

The mission of the Email Team Leader is to ensure the smooth operation and delivery, to a consistently high standard of service, of all email campaigns, email projects and email systems. This will involve being accountable for the deliverables of the team - primarily the creation, broadcasting, tracking and reporting of email campaigns and the implementation of email projects. You will be working closely with our clients, Campaign and Client Strategy teams and Senior Management.

Build and deploy best practice email campaigns

Support clients on day to day queries related to email campaigns and ESP Follow, develop and maintain an efficient email campaign process

Your day to day tasks:

  • Overall leadership of the Email Operations Team, ensuring that appropriate processes are developed and followed at all times in order to maximise the rate of deployment accuracy. Ensure the timely completion of all campaigns and projects undertaken
  • Liaising with clients, internal teams and third party vendors to provide a professional e-broadcasting service to our clients
  • Work with internal teams to create, deliver, track, optimise and automate email marketing campaigns e.g. service messaging, welcome, reactivation and transactional communications
  • Accountable for the deployment of all email campaigns through the ESP platform, including producing (HTML coding), segment building, deployment, testing and reporting
  • Responsible for project estimation/cost, reporting of time spent by teams on projects and generating monthly invoices for clients
  • Weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting on activities and results against core KPI's along with recommendations on future strategy
  • Responsible for managing SCV and Transactional data feeds within the ESP
  • Responsible for the email marketing project roadmap & the development of new programmes
  • Accountable for the quality standards and methodologies of the Email Operations Team
  • Work with ESP to ensure we are using the platform effectively and have a full understanding of new features
  • Responsible for client documentation for all projects delivered through the Email Operations Team
  • Lead technical conversations with clients in meetings
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the Email Operations Team with latest trends competitor activity, innovations and opportunities within the email marketing space

Essential for the role

Technical Skills

  • Extensive experience of coding in HTML and CSS.
  • Must be experienced in API integrations and email trigger campaigns as standard.
  • Previous experience of testing software - (e.g. Litmus) 
  • Understanding of eCRM and a particular passion for email marketing
  • Knowledge of best practice email marketing and email development

Competencies

  • Have experience of and be comfortable managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience in managing a small team (2 – 3 direct reports)
  • Excellent attention to detail & organisation skills
  • An effective communicator with good written and verbal skills

  • A quick learner, able to hit the ground running

Desirable

  • An understanding of responsive design/coding an advantage
  • Experience of Email Service Provider tools such as Adestra, Dotmailer, Bronto, etc would be considered hugely advantageous, although not essential as full training will be provided
