The Accountabilities

  • As Post Offices operate within a WHSmith store, you will be working in collaboration with the WHSmith Store Manager to ensure a faultless customer experience
  • Create a customer service led culture which is always striving to improve performance
  • Ensure all staff deliver a professional, friendly service to all customers
  • Drive sales initiatives and ensure team are having conversations with customers to maximise cross selling opportunities
  • Ensure fully compliant with our current Financial Services Association, Anti Money Laundering, Custom and Excise and other relevant legislation
  • Delivery and communication of business objectives, leading your team to maximise individual and team performance
  • Fully accountable for the Branch Profit and Loss account
  • Monitor security processes and procedures and ensure they are adhered to
  • Work with Operations Manager and Area Manager to deliver store and area targets
  • Manage employee lifecycle from the recruitment to appraisals, training and disciplinary process

 

The Requirements

 

  • Five years continuous referencing and consent to undertake a criminal record check
  • Demonstrable ability to manage and develop a team
  • A background in retail, financial services or Travel desirable
  • Previous experience of working to and achieving demanding targets within tight budgets
  • Working knowledge of managing a stores profit and loss account
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external parties

Excellent organisation and communication skills are also essential.
