Tooling Technician/Mechanical Assembler (Contract to hire) St. Paul, MN
***Train on 1st shift then move to 2nd shift!!!***

$22-24/hr.

Volt has partnered with a growing manufacturing company in search of a Tooling Technician/Mechanical Assembler!!! In this role, you will assemble, repair, rebuild, maintain, clean and storage of tooling components for die cast and other tooling applications. Inspect and verify tooling components using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gages. Operates alternately more than one type of machine tool such as surface grinders, mills, drill presses, lathes, etc. on machining operations of moderate complexity. Projects have some diversity and are in support of the Machinists.

Responsibilities:

  • Disassemble tooling components.
  • Accurate tooling assembly.
  • Carefully inspects and evaluates tooling components.
  • Efficiently cleans and stores tooling components.
  • Systematically evaluates damage to tooling components.
  • Surface grinding and setups.
  • Milling setup and locating.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Each operator may have varied responsibilities and tasks. Other duties as assigned.

Employees will comply with the company Integrated Management System (IMS) procedures and work instructions. Employees will perform work in a safe and environmentally conscientious manner according to company policy.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of mechanical assemblies and their functions related to assembly, repair.
  • Inspection of mechanical components.
