Lab Technician III

Lab Technician III (197439) Little Canada, Minnesota

Lab Technician III (12-month contract) $20.00/hr.

St. Paul, MN

Volt has partnered with a growing manufacturing company in search of a Lab Technician!

Responsibilities:

• Lead EHS audits and assign corrective action items
• Initiate incident reports and lead investigations impacting safety, health, environment, fires, and releases
• Implement safety programs and safeguards to control hazards and reduce the risk of incidents
• Complete risk assessments for equipment and processes in R&D labs and delegate action items
• Provide regulatory interpretation and implement appropriate changes in EHS procedures
• Write Lock Out/Tag Out procedures for new or modified equipment
• Ensure employees complete all EHS training assignments on a timely manner
• Generate and manage waste stream profiles to ensure compliance with federal and local laws and regulations
• Communicate any EHS related updates with management and other stakeholders
• Work as the radiation safety officer for the division to ensure compliance by MN State regulations
• Complete Respirator fit tests and complete the necessary paperwork for employees
• Complete EHS orientation for new employees
• File TSCA Section 8c in case of chemical exposure
• Assist all employees with their waste, safety, and other EHS related questions

Requirements:

***Bachelor’s Degree in Science
• Minimum of 1 year experience in the EHS related field
• Comfortable speaking in front of large groups
• Must be able to use MS Office products
• Able to lift 20 pounds
• Preferred: Team lead / supervisor experience
• Ability to prioritize many requests from employees and tasks on hand
• Needs to be able to comprehend and interpret government regulations (OSHA, EPA, MPCA, etc.)
• Must be able to follow rules and regulations of the company policies
