A member of the Safety, Health and Environment department. This role is fundamental to ensuring our Client meets its legislative responsibilities and management system requirements in an efficient and effective manner. Specifically, the minimisation of the organisations environmental impacts, and maintaining the safety, health and well being of employees and other interested parties.

Knowledge, skills and personal qualities desired

  • UK qualification equivalent to the role e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH, etc.
  • Degree educated or relevant experience in a similar role
  • Professional membership
  • At least 3 years professional experience
  • Sound knowledge of Health safety and environmental law
  • Manufacturing/Production experience
  • Trained Auditor
  • ISO 14001/50001/OHAS 18001 understanding
  • Willingness to embrace personal development

Key accountabilities

  • Capable of taking responsibility for company SHE matters, covering but not limited to:
    • SHE inspection and audit
    • Risk Assessment
    • Initiate Accident/Incident Investigation Reports
    • SHE committee and Safety Boards
    • SHE Training co-ordinator
    • Report SHE activity progress and matters of concern to the Head of Department
    • Continuous improvement of SHE policies, processes and working practices
    • Implementing emergency procedures
    • Arrange health surveillance
