Advantage resourcing is seeking a Senior Web Ops Engineer for a Public Sector based in Birmingham and Nottingham. This is initially 6 months Contract and the rate is (£400-£500/day) (Ltd) (Outside IR35). This role may require SC level security clearance therefore you must be willing and able to undergo the clearance process if you don’t already hold SC.There is also an opportunity to work from home but the successful candidate will be expected to work on-site (Birmingham or Nottingham) at least 2/3 days in the office.

Essential Experience and Skills
• Experience with AWS, Terraform or Ansible, Python, bash, RDS, PostgreSQL and similar technologies
• Experience working in an Agile environment across multiple projects
• Good understanding of common web application architectures
• Experience configuring and managing Linux servers for serving a dynamic website
• Experience debugging a complex multi-server service
• Familiarity with network protocols - TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, etc.
• Knowledge of application deployment strategies and Continuous Integration, particularly Jenkins
• Comfortable with configuration management tools: at least one of Salt, Chef, Puppet, Ansible or similar

Desirable Experience

• Experience of leading a DevOps team
• Experience as a web applications developer
• Working within a product-centric (rather than project based) environment
• Knowledge of installation and management of open source monitoring tools
• Experience with open source solutions and community
• Experience working with PHP frameworks (knowledge of Zend2 a bonus)
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools: Sensu, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana
