Finance Assistant

Finance Assistant (VC9330) Scarborough, England

Salary: GBP18000 - GBP20000 per annum

A charitable organisation focused on improving the local community is currently recruiting a Finance Assistant to join their head office team based in Scarborough, North Yorkshire.

This is a part-time position of 22.5 hours per week which can be worked flexibly over five days. Other benefits include Christmas shutdown, generous holiday allowance and a competitive salary.

The successful Finance Assistant will assist the Finance Manager and will ensure that all invoicing, payments, cash and banking are made accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities for the successful Finance Assistant will include:

  • Preparing invoices
  • Monitoring income against customer accounts
  • Ensures all invoices are correctly authorised
  • Inputting BACs payments
  • Maintaining petty cash and expenses
  • Monthly reconciliation
  • Other ad hoc finance duties as required

We are keen to speak with candidates who have previous experience in a busy finance department and a good level of competence across MS Office including Excel, Word and Outlook.

You will also have previous experience using an accountancy software package such as Sage, Xero or Quickbooks. The successful Finance Assistant with be AAT qualified or qualified by recent relevant experience.

This role is based in Scarborough, commutable from surrounding areas including Filey and Bridlington.
