Sr. Research Investigator (50509621) Cranbury, New Jersey
The main objectives of this position is the design and synthesis of compounds (individual or as part of libraries) or process optimization and scale-up synthesis of drug candidates and key intermediates in accordance with approved project protocols. In addition, the employee may supervise other scientific staff and external contract manufacturers. As a medicinal chemist the employee serves as a key contributor to drug discovery programs, frequently designs new or modifies existing experimental procedures or technologies and has an in depth knowledge of not only organic/medicinal chemistry and related drug discovery disciplines (pharmacology, toxicology, pharmacodynamics, etc.) but also their interrelationship to advancing drug candidates. For process optimization and scale-up, the employee will be required to create technology transfer documents to be used by external manufacturers, may be required to review and maintain CMC documents, manufacturing, and batch records, may serve as a coordinator of API supply for multiple development projects and have a good understanding of regulatory requirements.Adherence to good laboratory practice and the maintenance of detailed laboratory notebooks and data records are critical.
-Preparation of compounds for submission for biological screening including purification, characterization and assessment of purity, or process optimization and scale-up synthesis of drug candidates and key intermediates for preclinical projects.
-Upkeep of all necessary notebooks and records related to their work.
-Contribute to the advancement of drug discovery programs through study design, execution, problem solving and data analysis or coordination of API supply for development teams as required including vendor selection, technology transfer reports, reviewing batch records.
-Supervise other scientific staff and external vendors as required
