Maintenance Supervisor, £38,000, West London

This role involves leading the Maintenance Supervisor in delivering engineering, building services and event management to the highest standards befitting of Champion change across the department, modernise working practices and procedures. You will be responsible for implementing planned maintenance (PM) schedule and look for continuous improvement in the delivery of PM to reduce costs and improve team productivity.

Requirements of the Role:

  • -Develop and sustain a highly motivated team with the correct skills set required to deliver the T&F aspects of engineering and building services.
  • -In conjunction with the T&F Manager, closely manage any performance management, absence or disciplinary issues that may arise within the team, contributing to annual performance appraisals and development reviews. Identify and implement training and technical courses to enable the continual updating of skills and improvement of the team’s performance.
  • -Ensure that all areas of the T&F operation are resourced and scheduled efficiently to the appropriate levels to deliver the required service levels and legal compliance at all times.
  • -Co-ordinate all T&F areas of responsibility ensuring control of the team and the supervision of all contractors carrying out work and services.
  • -Manage the permit to work system and maintain live permit system and ensure T&F team are trained and competent in issuing permits.
  • -Develop and deliver the annual PM schedule ensuring events are taken into account and implement using the Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system as the primary platform.
  • -Lead and encourage the use of the CAFM system for all maintenance activities, schedule work tasks for the T&F team, liaise with the T&F helpdesk for all reactive maintenance and fault responses.
  • -Ensure CAFM system is fully understood and used by T&F team for all maintenance activities. Train and provide support where necessary.
  • -Regularly review the CAFM work orders to ensure that they contain any changes to legislation, current H&S documentation, materials / spares required and all other relevant information to enable the tasks to be carried out
  • -In conjunction with the T&F Manager and helpdesk, develop the helpdesk and fault reporting procedure so that it operates efficiently and captures all faults and requests both during day to day activities and during events.


Technical Requirements

 

  • -To carry out regular reviews of the PM strategy along with the Senior Management team to ensure that latest technology, methodology and resource levels are optimised and efficiencies are made where available.
  • -Display in-depth knowledge of the mechanical & electrical (M&E) systems and be competent in controlling and operating these systems using the building management system (BMS)
  • -Analyse plant and equipment performance and make adjustments where required to maintain optimum efficiency and energy usage. Liaise with the T&F helpdesk to ensure all event requirements are programmed into the BMS.
  • -Understand and be aware of all statutory maintenance inspections and testing of plant, equipment and structures. Ensure they are scheduled through CAFM and completed within the specified time periods.
  • -Proactively manage energy usage and ensure efficient use of plant and equipment is encouraged at all times to minimise unnecessary utility use.
  • -To be the primary point of contact for contractors and book in contractors, conduct H&S and site regulation briefings and satisfy yourself that all the necessary paperwork and documentation requirements have been met prior to granting permission to proceed.
  • -Sign off contractor work and projects, ensure quality and standards are acceptable, challenge substandard quality and ensure legal compliance of installations.
