Balance Sheet Controller (15249703/001) London, England
This Top Tier Investment Bank is looking for an Associate Balance Sheet Controller to cover a variety of functions ranging from facilitating, monitoring and controlling the accurate reporting of Financial Balance Sheets to Head Office on a timely basis in accordance to Head Office instruction and relevant IFRS and German GAAP standards.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Ensuring the data integrity of dynamic balance sheet on both a segmental and account level for both Financial and Management Reporting
• Assisting with timely and accurate submission of all month end returns to Head Office – covering financial and management reporting and be carried out on both a summarised and a transaction level basis
• Liaise with the Transaction Control team to ensure that for the entity all Internal & Control accounts are within the pre-defined threshold
• All suspense balances are correctly processed at month end and all cash breaks are cleared in a timely fashion
• Implement changes to reporting requirements as may occur from Head Office, IFRS/ IFRS 9
• Assist the project team and the wider Finance function regarding testing of new system development
The successful candidate is likely to have:
• Newly Qualified (HIGHLY DESIRABLE)
• Qualified Accountant – CIMA, ACCA, ACA or Finalist or qualified via technical experience and expertise gained within an Investment Bank
• Basic knowledge of Investment Banking products required
• Ability to appreciate the fundamental challenges that are involved in the control & reporting of multi-entity, multi-instrument, multi segmented transactions
• Ability to maximise data quality and efficiency and accuracy of core reporting
