Salary: CAD60000 - CAD100000 per annum

Our Client is a Toronto Based company that sells ecologically responsible products for everyday use. Their products, (which range from cutlery, cups, and plates to take-out containers & food processing trays) are made from sugar cane & bamboo fibers and include a full range of reusable bags as well.

Making the Canadian Business Profit 500 list 3 years in a row, they rank in the top 25% of Canada’s Fastest Growing Companies, have experienced 5 year revenue growth of almost 500%, and are currently in the process of a significant expansion into the European market.

We are currently on the hunt for an ambitious sales professional to join our team as the Territory Sales Representative for Western Canada.

The Role:

  • You will be responsible for hunting net new business as well as growing the multi-million dollars of existing business in the Western Canada Territory
  • Attending industry trade shows, prospecting, and selling our product lines to customers through distributors as well as directly to end-user clients
  • Based in the Greater Vancouver Area, you will be traveling to locations across BC, Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan as well as the West Coast USA
  • Reporting to the Business Development Manager, you will participate in the planning and development of our strategic goals as we scale up to meet market demands
  • This role includes competitive renumeration package, paid travel expenses, car allowance, health benefits and Pension Plan

Requirements:

  • Proven successful track record in sales with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience
  • Career history in related market segments of Food Service, Food Processing, Grocery Chain, Mass Merchandise, Health Care, Recreational and Accommodation
  • Education and training certifications to support the required skills for this position
  • Strong communication, organizational & presentation skills are evident
  • Fluent with required computer skills of Microsoft Office, CRM, and Outlook applications.
  • Oriented to working through a distributor & brokerage network
  • Comfortable with travelling 40-50% of time across Western Canada and USA and in the development of strong customer relations
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, confidence in taking the necessary initiatives to achieve success, and a creative nature to guide the company vision of being the best in their business category.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Responsible for hitting sales budgets for our product lines of reusable bags, compostable retail tableware, compostable food service packaging and food processing product designs
  • Implementing sales growth strategies created by the leadership team across several sales channels
  • Maintain and grow existing distribution clients, house accounts & end-user business
  • Gain new business through market research, prospecting, presenting solutions and the development of business relationships
  • Collaborating with existing national sales broker
  • Participating and attending industry networking events, information sessions and tradeshows
  • Selling into businesses ranging from SMBs to large grocery, retailers, and hospitality leaders
  • Onboarding training program and continued sales educational programs
