Commissioning Manager/Engineer

West Yorkshire, c.£45-£55K depending on experience

Our client designs and manufactures bespoke automation solutions for a diverse range of national and international customers.

They have an opportunity for a Commissioning Engineer responsible for ensuring that all installation, commissioning, test, customer FAT/SAT and training activities are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on-the-job training
  • Act as the line manager for a team of installation and commissioning engineers
  • Managing resources to support all personnel involved in the installation and commissioning process.
  • Primary customer point of contact for all customers
  • Prepare test documentation and generate any required commissioning and test reports.
  • Creating a fault/issues/observations tracker
  • Capturing all modifications made and reporting these back to the design team for incorporation into the design and/or as-built baselines.

Requirements

  • Previous experience of working within a multi–skilled environment and managing multiple commissioning projects in a similar role
  • Able to evaluate mechanical and technical requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as the role requires a high level of customer interaction
  • Experience in reading engineering drawings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum HNC qualification in a relevant electrical or mechanical engineering discipline
  • Previous experience of PLC programming, control systems, mechanical design or robotic engineering is essential.
  • Project management and engineering experience will be vital
  • Willing to travel and work away both in the UK and abroad.
