Electrical Design Engineer - Automotive x2 (15245945/001) Warwickshire, England

Electrical design engineer required for a 52 week contract based in Gaydon for a luxury automotive business.

Electronics team requires experienced electronics design engineers with exceptional abilities to apply world class design and analysis skills to increase our capacity to ensure that vehicle electronic components and systems meet high standards of reliability and robustness.

Key elements of the job are: Intensively review electronic circuits, layouts, packaging and system. Engage prior to supplier nomination to select the best solution. Execute deep reviews of the nominated solution. Troubleshoot component and system issues. Share of technical learning with the wider engineering community within the business. Individuals to develop as members of a team, each with recognised individual technical specialist skills. Arrival of the right people will immediately provide input into elimination of defects on 18, 19 and 20 model years.

Skills Required:
Must have strong, applied skills in automotive electronic hardware design.
The candidate must be able to examine a proposed circuit design and layout, and identify potential issues which may affect reliability, robustness and EMC.
Must have excellent people skills.
This skill is required to communicate any issues that are found in reviews and to drive the business and suppliers' engineers to resolve the issues in a timely manner. The candidate must have the skills to clearly capture issues and then pursue robust closure. This means being highly motivated, well organised and having a sense of urgency.

Experience Required:
The successful candidate will have designed the hardware for more than one electronic product , at least one of which was for a vehicle application and will have experienced putting the design into production.
He/she will have a good understanding of most of the following: Power supply topologies, interfacing to microcontrollers, power switching, analogue design, digital circuits, EMC, stability analysis, vehicle network hardware, RF design, vehicle traction electronics, IGBTs.
