Lead Subsea Pipeline Engineer
An International major Operator is looking to identify a Subsea Pipeline Engineer to join the regional team based in Aberdeen.
The Pipeline section forms part of the 'Structures and Pipelines' Department onshore. The 'Structures and Pipelines' Department is responsible for the design integrity of new and existing jackets, topside and pipeline facilities.
The Pipeline section is responsible for design and integrity of new as well as existing pipelines and provides specialist technical supports to other departments.
The Position:
As a Lead Pipeline Engineer you must be able to develop strategies and concepts; lead others and provide engineering solutions. You will be a senior member of a strong team of professionals, and will be expected to inspire your colleagues and through your experience, provide support and inspiration to the Department and Company as a whole. You will be working closely together with experienced engineers in an internationally inspiring and dynamic environment.
Key Accountabilities:
- Pipeline design and operation.
- Run a Pipeline Integrity Management System
- Develop operational boundaries for pipeline operation
- Develop performance standards for pipelines
- Monitor the pipeline operation.
- Prepare and issue annual pipeline status report
- Support development of design basis for new pipelines
- Development of pipeline design and reanalysis guidelines
- Development of calculation methods and design criteria
- Provide input to the planning of subsea and corrosion inspections
- Project Engineering and Management for internal projects
Skill Set and Competencies:
The successful candidate must be a leading team player experienced with pipeline design and maintenance capable of leading and guiding others. The candidate must be fluent in spoken and written English and be able to prove experience within the below areas:
- Detailed design and reanalysis of pipelines
- Experience with material selection and welding of pipelines
- Fully conversant with DNV-OS F101 and relevant offshore design codes
- Experience with providing innovative and/or best practice design solutions
- Technical report writing
- Working and developing solutions with little or no supervision
