Full - Time, 14 month Contract
My client, a market leading producer of pharmaceutical and personal care products in the Preston area, is looking for a Microbiologist to join the company on a 14 month contract, with the possibility of further extension. The purpose of the role is to carry out microbial testing on raw materials & finished products, interpreting results and reporting microbial contamination.
Key responsibilities
• To test raw materials, liquids & finished products, interpreting and reporting the results.
• Take water, hygiene & environmental samples for analysis.
• Ensure that all documentation is completed and filed as required.
• Conduct OOS investigations for failing samples.
• To ensure the laboratory and its equipment is kept clean and in good order in accordance with good laboratory practise (GLP.)
• Maintain high standards of health & safety, ensuring PPE is used correctly in accordance with company policy.
Required
• A Degree or equivalent qualification in Microbiology or a related field.
• Previous Experience within a Microbiology Laboratory.
• Practical knowledge of interpreting microbial growth and the identification of bacterial colonies
• Strong Knowledge of proper Aseptic technique.
• Eligibility to work within the UK
