Additional Learning Support Worker / Teaching Assistant (ALSStocken) Grantham, England

Salary: GBP9 - GBP10 per hour + Plus Statutory Holiday Pay

Each prison has its own purpose built OFSTED registered education department, boasting with both fully equipped classrooms for academic subjects and custom assembled workshops for vocational courses.

We currently have a requirement at HMP Stocken for an ongoing full time Additional Learning Support Assistant who is able to encourage and support the learners throughout their academic and vocational studies. You will be working closely under supervision of the teaching staff, supporting them in the classroom or operating on a one-to-one basis assisting and mentoring learners who may have learning difficulties.

Hours of work – Monday to Thursday 8:00am until 4:30pm and Friday 8:00am until 12 noon

Suitable candidates will meet the following criteria:
• Have a good basic general education including GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C
• Hold an NVQ2/NVQ3 Teaching Assistant qualification or PTLLS
• Have experience of working in a learning environment
• Be computer literate and have the ability to work as part of a team and on their own initiative.
