Carpentry & Joinery Tutors

Carpentry & Joinery Tutors (CarpRanby) Retford, England

Salary: GBP121 - GBP121 per day + Including Statutory Holiday Pay
Are you fed up of unmanageable class sizes of learners that just don’t want to be there?

Are you unhappy about the restrictions of when you can take your holidays?

Is your personal and work life balance disproportionate because of endless amounts of homework that need to be marked at home?

If you answered ‘Yes’ to these questions, then maybe you should consider Offender Learning.

Not only will you be offering people a second chance and the opportunity to turn their lives around to gain the skills to build a better future for themselves, but you can expect the following benefits:

• Small manageable class sizes of 8-12 learners (education for learners is a privilege; those who take it for granted lose the right);
• Flexibility to take holidays throughout the year without the usual term time restrictions;
• All administration and ILP’s are completed in the prison (no work is taken home);
• Education runs throughout the year and therefore the ability for increased earning potential is available for sessional and on-going staff

Protocol is pleased to be working alongside HMP Ranby in Retford who are looking to recruit experienced Carpentry & Joinery tutors to join their expanding education department on a temporary ongoing basis with the possibility of going permanent.

There are full time and part time hours available. Any training or meetings that may take place will be paid a reduced rate of £10.09 per hour.

Suitable candidates will meet the following criteria:

• A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Carpentry & Joinery.
• A recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience of teaching Carpentry & Joinery in a classroom setting.
• Competent IT skills for maintaining and updating student portfolios.
• Own transport – due to the location of the prison.
