Salary: GBP10 - GBP12 per hour + Including Statutory Holiday Pay
Job Title: Regional Community Support Worker

Our client, the St Giles Trust is a Charitable Trust who help ex-offenders and disadvantaged people to move their lives forward - typically those who fell through the net and were not in receipt of state assistance.

In the mid-1990's, St Giles Trust relocated to their existing headquarters in Georgian House, Camberwell Church Street and started to work in local prisons offering housing casework support to serving prisoners. This service was in high demand so in 2001 they started training serving prisoners to become qualified caseworkers known as Peer Advisors who could offer advice and guidance to their fellow inmates to meet this need and was a ground-breaking approach.

We are now recruiting for a Regional Community Support Worker to assist with the delivery of volunteer training across the region and delivery of the St Giles Trust Community Provision.
This will include:
• Support with the delivery of our Education and Training and Employment Provision.
• Support with the delivery of our Mentoring service in the community.
This role is 35 hours per week on a temporary basis initially for 3 months but could permanent for the right candidate.

Suitable candidates will meet the following criteria:

• Experience of working with vulnerable clients with identified needs, preferably those with an offending background
• Experience of delivering training and participating in group work activity
• Strong IT Skills including proven experience of using Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience of working with young ex-offenders (desirable)
• Due to the role covering the Norfolk & Suffolk area, access to own transport would be beneficial.
• An awareness of options for support for this client group in these areas:

- welfare and housing rights;
- anti-social behaviour legislation
- education, training and employment (ETE); as well as finance, benefit and debt (FBD).
