Solutions Product Marketing Manager

Solutions Product Marketing Manager (BBBH106071) Chicago, Illinois

The Solutions Marketing Manager is responsible for business planning and marketing of distribution grid focused solutions including demand response, consumer engagement and energy storage products that help our utilities to more efficiently and reliability manage their resource delivery.


Core responsibilities include:

*Lead development and execution of go-to-marketing strategies and messaging content development, grounded in insightful market positioning intelligence and rationale.

*Development of customer-focused messaging (and associated collateral needs) across the sales lifecycle from market awareness to commercial contract. This may include: PR, communications collateral, white papers, sales support tools, and new product launch kits.

*Drive product launches as well as messaging and positioning strategies for existing solutions portfolio.

*Establish the detailed commercial terms of solutions including target customer segmentation, offering bundles, pricing, delivery and support expectations.

*Engage with both internal sales roles and customers to communicate the value the solution.

*Ongoing analysis of market trends and competitive intelligence.

*Investigate and advise on pricing and business models leveraging pricing analysis of competitors,

*knowledge of pricing strategies, and understanding of customer-side business case.


Strong candidates will demonstrate the following:

*Understanding of the utility industry, including market forces, economics, customer challenges and existing technologies.

*Communication: Strength in both understanding and articulating our customer’s challenges and value of our solutions in a compelling and organized manner.

*Cross-functional engagement: Experience working in a cross functional organization, engaging sales, communications, product management, finance and other areas as needed.

*Strong aptitude for setting direction and establishing self as a primary champion for new and existing business opportunities, founded in market and product expertise.

*Resourceful: Natural tendency to seek out information and support in various places and people (both internally and externally) to develop expertise and garner support.

*Both business and technical aptitude to underpin market messaging – Ability to develop compelling messaging to various audiences including both business and technical decision makers.

*Analytics skills associated with define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions – particularly related to business planning goals such as defining addressable markets, establishing value-based pricing models, analyzing value chains, assessing business value of partner-based relationships.
