Internal Communications Manager – Nottingham or Bristol – 6 month contract – Up to £180-275 per day – IR35 Status: Inside IR35
We are currently recruiting for an Internal Communications Manager to work for a major government department based in Nottingham on a 9 month contract. There is an expectation of travel within the UK for this role. Candidates with experience of working for a government department are particularly desirable.
The Role:
The successful candidate will support the delivery of the department’s key strategic communications plans, campaigns and ‘products’ within their assigned business area. In addition they will support significant internal and external ‘business as usual’ initiatives within the department in agreement with line manager and Head of Corporate Communication.
Duties:
• Working with the wider Communications team to manage the delivery of communications campaigns and products for internal and external departmental stakeholders.
• Take the lead and responsibility for providing accurate, consistent messages for staff and external audiences in respect of their business area.
• Set the communication evaluation criteria for the communication activities to measure the success of the messages and channels, in line with Government Communications Service requirements
• Produce monthly analysis reports for the evaluation board.
Qualifications:
• Professional qualification in communications eg CIM, CIPR, NCTJ, IOIC or willingness to work towards
Experience:
• Essential Experience in planning, developing and implementing communications campaigns to achieve clear communications objectives based on audience insight and data.
• Experience of evaluating communications campaigns against agreed performance indicators.
• Good verbal and written communications skills.
• The ability to write clearly and simply, using Plain English.
• The ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Experience of delivering internal comms campaigns to challenge Discrimination, Bullying and Harassment, an advantage
