Vetting Manager – Reading – 8 month contract – Up to £35K per annum

We are currently recruiting for a Vetting Manager to work for a major IT and gaming company based in Reading on a 9 month contract.
The Role:
The Vetting Administrator fulfils the role of the vetting ‘Clearance Contact’ and acts as the prime liaison with DBS National Security Vetting and other HMG vetting authorities. They are also key to ensuring the smooth running of the secure facility based onsite.
Duties:
• This role involves the management of the day-to-day aspects of Security clearances, handling classified information.
• Perform baseline clearances and assist with Security Clearances ensuring all administrative aspects are carried out according to SPF and UK Government guidelines.
• Administer annual appraisals (SAF) of all national security cleared staff.
• Maintain data quality and update Security Database detailing all current clearance information.
• Vetting Reports as required.

Experience:
• Must be proactive, able to deal with ambiguity, self-prioritise work, resources, and juggle multiple tasks in a manner.
• Must have the ability to work independently to achieve results with a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to be entrusted with the knowledge and handling of Classified and Personal information.
• In depth understanding of National Security Personnel Vetting.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office (outlook for meetings, p/point, excel and word).
• Knowledge of the Defence Sector, Central and Local Government useful but not essential.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience with customer interaction in the Defence Sector, Central and Local Government, business and security requirements.
• Valid Security Check (SC) required or ability to achieve this required level.
