Reservoir Engineer - Completions (32477) Houston, Texas

Position conducts in-depth evaluations, analysis and provides technical expertise in completion evaluations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  •     Understand completion field operations, especially fracturing operations.
  •     Conduct simulation of hydraulic and acid fractures
  •     Perform sensitivity studies to define uncertainities and generate optimum well completion
  •     Ability to extract key information from completion reports
  •     Familiar with various completion strategries, artificial lieft, alternate production strategies, production allocation and forecasting.
  •     Experience in geomechanics evaluation and its applicaiton to fracture modeling
  •     Work closing with client operational staff as well as other technical professionals suc as geologists, geophysicists, and petrophysicists to solve well and completion problems in innovative and unconventional ways
  •     Mentor and coarch less experienced staff and assist with project management and technical leadership roles.
  •     Perform other duties and activities as assigned by management.
  •     Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
  •     Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
  •     Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
  •     Perform other duties and activities as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  •     Master of Science Degree
  •     Minimum 2-3 years direct experience in completion engineering
  •     1-2 years on fracture modeling and fracture optimization
  •     Ability to be resourceful and a team player with little supervision
  •     Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  •     Experience in report writing and presentation preparation and delivery
  •     Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with all levels of personnel, build and maintain relationships in order to achieve results
  •     Ability to work well in an environment with different cultures
  •     Confident, self-motivated and highly proactive
  •     Ability to multi-task and have good prioritization and time management skills and ability to work on several projects and "change gears" quickly
  •     Ability to handle large volumes of work and meet deadlines
  •     Experience in fracture modeling softwares
  •     Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, Power Point)
  •     Frequent client interaction is a responsibility of this position
  •     Some travel is required.
  •     Bachelor of Science Degree
