Advantage Resourcing have a fantastic permanent opportunity for an experienced Application Support Analyst to work with our client’s Estate Management Tooling team. This is a fantastic permanent position to work for a prestigious banking client in Cheshire.

Overall purpose of role:

The Application Support analyst will perform an important role in Business Technology Service Operations (BTSO) to ensure stability, continuity and availability of the latest, cutting edge, Estate Management application tools, in addition to providing rapid response to incidents and escalated user queries.

Duties:

• Drive maturity and adoption of the BTSO toolset throughout the BUK/BI application estate
• Identify how teams can use BTSO tooling to deliver agreed efficiencies and cost savings
• Adopt a standard approach to build, maintain and report on tooling adoption and benefits realised
• Conduct 1-2-1 sessions with key stakeholders to deliver product direction and usage messages, and deliver feedback to the tooling support teams
• Work with major incident teams to understand how tooling can make those processes more effective and embed tooling within them
• Produce standard management information packs to facilitate conversations throughout our customers
• Identify and promote champions within the towers who act as local SME’s for our tooling and promote alongside us
• Feedback to the tooling teams on any new technologies, applications or changes which may have an influence on the tooling direction
• Identify and work with key application leads, stakeholders and “process” leads (e.g. major incident managers) to drive adoption and maturity across all tooling
• Manage own workload and own steps to remove any blockers through communication with other teams
• Engage key individuals to understand how the business works and how our tooling can help them deliver higher quality change more frequently
• Deliver clear and informative documentation to facilitate product knowledge throughout the team and application areas
• Identify what the key success factors are within different areas, and tune the standard approach to make the content more relevant

Skills and experience in:

• Good understanding of different types of monitoring and automation concepts- Application Performance Monitoring (APM), End User Monitoring (EUM), Runbook automation and Log analytics.
• Skills in Linux, Windows, AIX
• Understanding of Application frameworks (JVM, .Net)
• Middleware technologies (WAS, JBoss, Tomcat)
• Cloud and container technologies
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be able to articulate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
• Must be comfortable presenting product overviews, brown bags and technical workshops to customers both face to face and over WebEx.
• Strong documentation focusing on end users and support teams
