Global Marketing Director required for the luxury goods business of much-larger parent, Nokia, VERTU takes the art of mobile communication to an entirely new level. With extensive and emerging operations in the US, UK, Hong Kong, Russia, the Middle East, Singapore, Japan, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, and Latin America, Vertu is already a successful business. Indeed, on the strength of a powerful new products portfolio, a rapidly expanding company-owned retail footprint, and a recent reorganization that has streamlined operations, the company's momentum is at an all-time high. Due to the global reach and focus on emerging markets several years of multi cultural local and business experience will assist in the distribution methods and the capacity to analyze the consequences in order to modify plans and programs to guarantee success on priority markets, are also required.
Part of capitalizing on this momentum is the role of you as a new global leader for the marketing function - - to include both traditional marketing communication activities as well as the product management discipline - who can help strengthen and sharpen existing brand identity, better leverage the company's retail assets, improve the ROI on advertising & media planning, play a leading role in the design and launch of new products, and bring a deeper understanding of the critical success factors in luxury goods to the table.
You will be first and foremost a savvy international premium brand marketing executive who understands how to make things happen. With a view to this role as a mission to leverage marketing as a genuine business driver both in the regions and at headquarters, such that whether reinforcing fundamental brand identities or supporting a new product launch, the message coming from Vertu is clear, compelling and consistent. The Global Directorship will take the lead in raising the level of co-operation between marketing counterparts at the parent company and marketing as it exists in the field, and by assuming the role of a proactive, collaborative thought leader, will work closely with senior management to ensure that the marketing function is seen as a key, competitive advantage.
Specifically, you will have extensive experience in and be responsible for:
· Guaranteeing the performance of the luxury brand, defining the marketing strategy, communication, innovation and product design/image;
· Defining mid and long-term strategies for the brand by respecting the coherence of the product portfolio;
· Defining the positioning of the brand in coordination with relevant internal constituencies (management, financial control);
· Overseeing and ensuring the use of support tools such as the marketing research function to improve decision-making and strategic planning;
· Developing, refining and implementing brand strategies, including brand DNA, brand vision, brand positioning, brand communication, resource allocation and so on;
· Developing and implementing all brand programs to include advertising and promotion, visual merchandising, PR and events, consumer relationship marketing, new product development/design, etc;
· Ensuring all brand marketing initiatives are highly creative and innovative and that the standard and quality are constantly being raised;
· Acquiring an in-depth knowledge of the global luxury goods competitive environment and using this knowledge to make a significant contribution to Vertu's vision, objectives, strategies and plans;
· Determining the most appropriate level of marketing investment, how this is allocated by brand and country and ensuring maximum return on this investment at all times;
· Leading, inspiring, empowering and evolving the Vertu marketing team through coaching that improves core competencies, drives the right behaviour and provides focus, initiates creativity in all aspects of the mix;
· Relate information to senior management through regular business reviews and progress reports;
· Overseeing the activities of marketing services agencies to maintain Vertu's brand strategy and consistency as it applies to local markets.
