Protocol are working with a College in West Yorkshire to recruit for their new Head of Engineering and Motor Vehicle. As Head of Department, you will have strategic responsibility for the area and I am looking to discuss the role with either experienced and successful Heads of, Deputy Head of Department or Curriculum Managers in Further Education.
Reporting to the Curriculum Director you will lead your team to ensure the overall development and success of the department. Working with employers, students and other key stakeholders, you would be responsible for providing a high quality, coherent, demand-led and accessible curriculum portfolio which ensures progression opportunities for all students.
Main purpose and scope:
• To plan, develop and deliver a curriculum which effectively meets the needs of learners and employers.
• To deliver outstanding outcomes in terms of retention, achievement, success and progression
• To exceed targets for income diversity and volume, as well as for financial contribution
• To provide leadership in the enhancement of learning and teaching
• To provide day to day line management for staff and leadership to staff working within the Department across all Campuses.
You will have your Level 5 teaching qualification, relevant subject knowledge, proven experience of managing and developing curriculum and experience of managing a team within FE.
