Ideally you will have knowledge of construction, if not don’t worry, the most important thing is you are an experience and successful Head of or Deputy Head of Department in Further Education. For the right candidate this could be the ideal route to Assistant Principal.
As a member of the College’s leadership group you will lead your team to ensure the overall development and success of the department. Working with employers, students and other key stakeholders, the leadership family is responsible for providing a high quality, coherent, demand-led and accessible curriculum portfolio which ensures progression opportunities for all students.
• Lead innovative curriculum growth and development which is influenced by students and employers, ensuring that it is attractive to them.
• Ensure a student focused culture of high performance and excellence in teaching, learning and assessment.
• Manage all team members ensuring they are supported and developed appropriately in order to enable them to deliver success with each of their students.
• Leading and contributing to the development and successful achievement of strategic and operational goals you will contribute to the Strategic Objectives including building strong partnerships with employers and other stakeholders.
You will be experienced in managing large budgets of around 3 million, driving income generation, manage staffing budgets and maintain an overview of other resources, ensuring that the College’s values are being adhered to including the departmental targets and wider College targets are achieved.
