Summary

We are looking for a Principal Infrastructure Architect reporting to the Chief Architects. You will be accountable for the delivery of the Enterprise Architecture across the entire IT infrastructure domain. You will also provide leadership to a team of specialist infrastructure architects in your role as a member of the executive management team of the architecture function.
This role provides a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to shape and develop a key part of the architecture future and be an influential leader within the business.

Responsibilities

•Be accountable for the production, approval and socialisation of strategies, roadmaps and reference architecture material for our Data Centres, Hosting, Network, voice & video systems, as well as end users devices and technology
•Play a lead role in influencing the investment plan and transformation portfolio
•Provide architectural leadership for all infrastructure architects (enterprise and solution)
•As part of the executive leadership of the architecture function, you will line manage a small number of specialist infrastructure architects helping them develop to meet their career aspirations.
•In addition you will act as a leader within the wider Architecture team spending part of your time building capability to ensure continuous improvement of architecture and its people.

Skills and Experience

•Extensive infrastructure architecture subject matter expertise and authority
•Deep knowledge of large scale computing environments including understanding of both Cloud and on-premises services
•Experience in defining Data Centre, Hosting and Network strategies, roadmaps and architectures
•Experience in delivering highly resilient, automated architectures through multiple large transformation portfolios (in excess of £100m) from the definition of strategies, roadmaps and solutions, through to the assurance of their delivery
•Strong architecture governance experience
•Exceptional influencing, communication, line management and organisational skills
•The ability to document, communicate and influence architecture at the highest level (up to the main board) throughout a large scale organisation
•Led and created a continuous improvement culture within an Architecture function
