Summary

Java Development in support of FX and Commodities IT MIFID II deliveries to meet compliance of the relevant regulations in time for the 2018 deadlines; including green-fields development of new components required in the stack; integration with external systems facilitating feeds we need to support and enhancing any existing points in the stack (quality of test environments etc) where we do not meet the enhanced levels of scrutiny that MIFID II expects.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will join the FX and Commodities IT team as a Java Developer focusing on the complex and varied book of work associated to our MIFID II workstreams. On joining the team, the successful candidate will be expected to quickly gain a solid understanding of the existing processes, system flows and components currently in live use, displaying sufficient interpersonal and relationship building skills to liaise directly with Sales, Traders and other Business stakeholders and SMEs to develop target proposals; working with the local project manager to help define these where required.
The successful candidate will be expected to adopt the procedures and practices currently in-place to help ensure quality and consistency within the IT platforms. They will be encouraged to actively contribute to this process, proposing and helping to implement new procedures considered appropriate.

Skills and Experience

•Java mastery essential. The candidate must have a very strong grasp of idiomatic Java SE, and will have experience of working with a wide range of supporting library sets.
•Java EE. Basic understanding of large-scale distributed Java-based architectures, including experience of at least one enterprise-class JEE container (WebSphere, Weblogic, etc).
