Salary: GBP26000 - GBP28000 per annum

 

Role: Event Cleaning and Waste Services Manager

Location: Telford

Salary: Circa £27,000pa

Status: Permanent – 40 hours a week – weekends, evenings & nights may be required

Description:

To manage the Event Cleaning Services department according to budgets, business levels and departmental and company standards, ensuring all areas of the building, grounds and car parks are serviced and maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness and presentation.  To manage the waste services of the building and grounds whilst upholding and developing the company’s sustainability policy.

Duties to include:

  • Recruitment & induction within budgetary confinements
  • Training the team & the upkeep of training records
  • Reviewing/appraising/disciplining the team following company guidelines
  • Producing, reviewing & implementing departmental Health and Safety Risk Assessments
  • Organising & chairing team meetings to motivate & build team spirit
  • Implement & operate an ongoing in-depth cleaning routine across all areas of the business
  • To work closely with event managers to ensure a complete service in the correct time frame
  • Ordering all cleaning equipment & products liaising with suppliers to ensure the best products & prices are obtained whilst remaining on budget
  • To manage the waste (including event waste) in a sustainable & cost effective manner
  • To roster staff in accordance with the business levels and working in accordance with event notes and budgets
  • To ensure all weekly staffing timesheets are checked, completed and recorded correctly to ensure payroll is met
  • To provide event forecasts and actuals and present findings at cost sheet meetings as required

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience within a similar industry and / or role at Manager or Supervisor level within a cleaning environment
  • Understanding of H&S and COSHH regulations – IOSH in the event industry or similar H&S qualification desirable although training will be given
  • Experience of successfully managing budgets
  • Understanding of Green credentials advantageous
  • High levels of customer service experience with the ability to communicate with people at all levels professionally
  • Experience of managing, motivating and developing teams of people in a customer service environment.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, think on your feet and react quickly and professionally
  • Good IT skills with the ability to use email and Microsoft office programmes including word and excel
