Portfolio Manager – PMO – Oldbury, Birmingham

Portfolio Manager (PMO) required for an international organisation based in Oldbury, Birmingham where you will play a pivotal part in the delivery of the PMO. You will maintain and manage the UK wide portfolio of projects and manage the process through the PMO. This a hands-on management role, where you will produce timely and accurate reports in line with the governance framework and portfolio process.

The ideal candidate will have experience and be able to support and enable the delivery of all aspects of portfolio management across the United Kingdom.

Key responsibilities of the role

  • Owning and maintaining the UK wide portfolio management processes and framework, from new bid requests, to improvements in technology, which will be delivered through the PMO tool and support global portfolio management
  • Ensuring that all aspects of portfolio management (investment, benefits, resource and risk) are managed and reported upon
  • Making sure that the portfolio processes are communicated and understood across the UK business (Aligned to the PMO frameworks and communications)
  • Managing the portfolio level governance and reporting requirements and ensuring that these are produced in a timely manner
  • Ensuring the delivery of projects and programmes align to the portfolio of work and works alongside the PMO
  • Ensuring that the demand management process is well established and managed by working with all required teams across the UK business
  • Producing and maintaining management documentation for the portfolio, such as benefit maps, resource profiles and RAID

Key Skills of the role

  • Portfolio Management and PMO experience across Systems, Process, & People focused plans is essential
  • Previous experience at delivering a company-wide portfolio within a PMO
  • Extensive experience working in a Portfolio Level Project Management Office on a national/global scale
  • Previous experience at managing and delivering an internal service
  • Highly communicative and organised individual with the skills to manage high level deliverables and where necessary, provide complex solutioning regarding risks and issues
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to produce timely and accurate reports

Salary

The salary for this position is between £60,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits including car allowance.
