SQL Database Administrator – Burton-On-Trent
SQL DBA required for a leading organisation based in Burton-on-Trent, where you will be responsible for configuring and maintaining the database infrastructure and the existing estate of SQL Servers. You will play a key part in the performance, integrity and security of all databases within the organisation.
The ideal candidates will have extensive experience working with the current and ideally previous 2 versions of Microsoft SQL server.
Key Responsibilities of the role
- Review, document & enhance complex stored procedures.
- Configure, optimise and support MS SQL Server 2012 & 2014 relational databases.
- Analyse the root cause of database issues and pass findings back to the service desk for resolution. Provide expert advice and support on resolving database related issues where necessary.
- Proactively address any issues noticed such as storage space limitations or slow system access.
- Implement database upgrades, backups and restores.
- To provide production support and ensure that capable production systems are available wherever practicable.
Key Skills of the role
- Extensive experience working with the current and ideally previous 2 versions of Microsoft SQL server.
- Experience developing complex SQL code, and experience developing complex data integration.
- Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
- Desirable to have experience using SSIS, SSRS.
- Demonstration of enthusiasm to develop professionally in the form of training, certifications and broad technical reading.
Salary
The salary for this position is £37,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits.
