Java Technical Lead - Slough

Java Technical Lead required for a leading client based near Heathrow Airport in Slough, where you will be responsible for leading and guiding a team of Senior and Mid-Level Developers. You will be working a range of varied projects, including some ‘greenfield’ pieces of development.

The ideal candidate will have extensive Java experience, and an ability to communicate with a range of internal/external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities of the role;

• Software development and maintenance to meet user requirements.
• Working within the team, typically leading development in a pair or individually depending on the nature of individual development tasks.
• Gather requirements from the business, from the Head of IT and other departments as needed; discussing these and their solutions with the team.
• Creation of JIRA issues and building sprints with the Head of IT.
• Produce high quality, maintainable code.
• Continuously search for improvements in the process.

Key skills of the role;

• Languages/Frameworks – Java, Spring, Hibernate/JPA, Vaadin, Cucumber, Maven, Struts.
• Methodologies – Agile including Test and Behaviour Driven Development, some Scrum practices, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
• Servers/Tools – Tomcat, Jenkins, SVN, JIRA, STS.

Salary

My client is offering a salary up to £80,000 plus benefits depending on experience.
