Working in close partnership with a leading and highly successful organisation based in the Edinburgh area, Morson international have an excellent permanent opportunity for a Principal Engineer. This is a full time opportunity working Monday to Friday. This position would suit a Senior Engineer whom is currently looking to progressive within a supportive and inclusive organisation remaining in a technical demanding position.

Position Overview

As the Principal Engineer, the main remit of this position will be to take a technical lead with the delivery of new products. Working with a team of engineers from other disciplines, this role will be responsible for managing these engineers in order to take a product from conception through to final design and manufacturing. Further aspects of the role will include providing a mentoring and technical expertise/supervision of Engineering team members in their own professional development within the company.

Candidate Overview

To be considered for this position, you must have experience of working within a R&D department within a commercially focused organisation. Additionally, our client is keen to bring on board a professional whom can demonstrate recent technical hands on experience with a strong experience of working with professionals from other disciplines.

Additional experience includes (but not limited to):

• Academically have achieved a BEng or BSc in relevant discipline from a reputable University.
• Experience of developing a product from conception through to manufacture.
• Strong customer interaction experience.
• Experience of dealing with suppliers.
• Background in one of the following disciplines, and familiarity with several others: digital hardware design, analogue hardware design, RF design, FPGA or embedded software.
