Our client in the Cleveland area has an immediate need for a Citrix Engineer. The Citrix Engineer will primarilybe responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of the Citrix environment.
Other responsibilities include:
Responsible for the implementation of application virtualization and client technology. Interacts with business users and vendors to implement new and existing applications and systems.
Act as 2nd level support for client and application issues. Assists in the development and strategy of the client infrastructure through monitoring, maintenance, and system upgrades of the Citrix and client environments. Essential Duties
Participates with Project Management Office (PMO) representatives and IT&S Technology Architects/Senior engineers to implement new projects and service requests
Ensures proper transition of operational documentation and necessary training to appropriate operational teams
Assists tier 1 client support organization in the timely resolution of Service Desk Trouble Tickets and related issues. Creates training and documentation relating to processes and solutions that can be addressed by tier 1 personnel
Performs on-site analysis, diagnosis and resolution of client and application problems
Monitors server resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency of the Application Virtualization environment
Accurately documents instances of application failure, and works with the Server team for repair, installation, and removal of affected systems
Manages and administers an expanding Citrix virtualization environment
Installs, configures, tests, maintains and troubleshoots systems related to application access and client environments
Collaborates with Desktop Support group, Service Desk, Server Team, and internal customers to ensure efficient operation of our client's infrastructure
Supports and manages the daily operations of all hosted applications
Serves as a point of escalation for complex operational issues
Coordinates and monitors troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems and documents system events to ensure continuous uptime
Recommends course of action and implements as approved
Coordinates testing, upgrades and configuration of system services. Ensures changes are in accordance with appropriate operating procedures and recommends revisions or changes based upon results. Prepares for and prescribes approaches to foreseen bottlenecks and challenges
Serves as subject matter expert on complex system processes and procedures
Participates in on-call service rotation\; provides 24 x 7 production support on a rotating basis. Performs occasional night/weekend work as assigned.
This is a contract position expected to last six months or longer.
