RMS – Resource Management Solutions are currently recruiting a Buyer on behalf of our client a Market Leading Demolition & Marine Decommissioning. We are experienced in enhancing their ability to recruit the very best talent, putting solid foundations in place which underpin the further development of their business.

 

An Immediate start were you will be contracted to 39 hours per week working a 3 shift rotation, notable Benefits for this position include:

Reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, the successful candidate will play an essential role assisting the Procurement Manager to help fulfil their duties on a day to- day basis from general basic administration duties through to supplier management and contract negotiation

The role will be based at their headquarters in Billingham with a possible requirement to travel to Hartlepool.

The position will command a competitive package, based on the candidate’s experience.

Applicants need to demonstrate a successful track record and civil experience is an advantage.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing purchase requisitions, control the issue of purchase orders, tender management, vendor maintenance, supplier contract management and negotiation of costs to ensure excellent value for money solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining communication with all departments, building and keeping supplier relationships, ensuring goods and services are delivered efficiently whilst ensuring that logistics costs are minimised

Manage, organise and update relevant information using procurement database

Be extremely responsive to acting on requests/ chasing information

Assist the Procurement Manager with procurement and query resolution

You will be expected to attend and contribute to departmental and supplier meetings and liaise with other parts of the business when necessary

Drafting and negotiating supply contracts

Assist managing supplier performance

Procurement department general administration

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Pre-requisites for the candidate:

Extensive IT skills, particularly in Excel

Strong communication skills, both oral and written

A background in procurement and purchasing in civils and construction, have the

ability to manage multiple spend categories and suppliers.

A strong understanding of contract law

CIPS Level 3 or currently studying towards CIPS Level 3 would be desirable

Site based experience would be desirable

Understanding of construction drawings and plans is desirable

Experience in, or understands Civil Engineering/Steel Fabrication industries would be desirable but not essential

Able to manage sourcing projects to tight timescales and engage and influence multiple stakeholders

Demonstrate competency in planning, conflict management, negotiation and team
