NPI (New product Introduction) Quality Engineer

NPI (New product Introduction) Quality Engineer (J1043) Wolverhampton, England

RMS – Resource Management Solutions are currently recruiting an NPI Quality Engineers on behalf of our client who are a globally recognised automotive supplier based in the Wolverhampton area of the West Midlands.

Reporting directly to the Senior Assembly & Quality Engineer and you will be responsible for New Product Introduction or modification supporting stamping & assembly regarding Quality Documentation. You will support the delivery of required targets of the New Product Launch activities.

 

Key Tasks/Responsibilities

 

Preparation of customer APQP and PPAP documents.

Create and obtain approval for measurement gauge concept with customer.

MSA studies on CMM fixtures and gauges.

Buy-off criteria for the fixtures and gauges from supplier.

Ensure all fixtures and gauges are entered onto the Calibration system.

Component buy-off at tool makers.

Communication and Presentations, directly with Customers and internal.

Create FMEA’s, Control Plans and internal documentation.

Provide timing for quality milestones and activities for Project timing plan.

Statistical analysis of measurements results from capability studies.

Provide timing for quality milestones and activities for Project timing plan.

Escalate issues that could potentially undermine the program.

Ensuring Quality milestones are achieved.

Managing Non Conformances (AIMS etc) and implementing procedures and tools including NCR's and 8D's.

 

 

To be considered for this position you will be educated to ONC or HNC in a related Quality or Engineering discipline as well as:

Being able to demonstrate experience in a similar high volume Customer facing Projects Quality Planning and Engineering role.

Previous experience within the automotive industry with good working knowledge of TS16949 as well as focused on achieving the quality policy and quality objectives to meet customer requirements.

Thorough knowledge of Quality Systems, Customer Specific requirements and Customer APQP/PPAP Requirements.

Proficiency in all MS Office packages including Word, Excel, Outlook & Powerpoint.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proven negotiation skills, with analytical thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to stay calm and collected under pressure.

Experience in using Quality tools and techniques such as, 8D analysis, Poka Yoke etc. Experience desirable

 

This post requires a person with self-motivation, strong character, imagination and drive. You must be someone who has at least 5 years’ experience in a similar projects quality role and be keen to take on a challenging role. Preferably either be time-served or have had substantial hands-on experience in similar projects / manufacturing environment.
