Quality Engineering Opportunity (J1096) Newton Aycliffe, England

RMS Recruitment are actively recruiting a Quality Engineer working for our Client  who are a multinational company specialising  in the design, development and manufacture of highly engineered metal components for the automotive industry.

You will be based in  Newton Aycliffe however frequent travel will be required to other sites, a permanent position were you will be responsible for implementing and developing suitable quality tools and techniques.

Our Client is present in 21 countries, has more than 100 manufacturing plants, 12 R&D centres and a workforce numbering over 36,000 employees worldwide.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities

Definition, implementation and refinement of a robust Quality Concept during the Product and Process Design and Development phases.

Ensuring all quality requirements, including lessons learned, are considered; DFMEA, Datum strategy, Tolerances, Feasibility, DFM, PFMEA, Control Plan, Poka-Yoke, Gauging, etc.

Providing knowledge, documentation and on-site support to the nominated manufacturing plants during the Product and Process Realisation, Series Preparation, Ramp-Up and Mass Production phases.

Reporting and monitoring finished product quality performance (Dimensional, Functional, Auditing, etc.) including associated improvement plans.

We are interested in Quality Engineers who are educated to HNC or Degree level in an Engineering discipline (Consideration will be given to a recognised engineering apprenticeship) along with :

Significant experience in a Quality role within the automotive industry.

Product and Process Design, Development and Launch experience.

Experience in automotive industry standards, procedures and practices.

Experience and working knowledge in producing and developing robust control documentation such as, PFMEA’s, Control Plans, Gauge layouts, Instructions, etc.

Experience in using Quality tools and techniques such as, SPC, 8D, Poka Yoke, etc.

Ability to interpret drawings coupled with a thorough understanding of GD&T.
