SQL Database Administrator – SQL/SSRS/SSIS – Birmingham

SQL DBA required for a well-known organisation based in Birmingham, that are eager to bring new individuals into the team and offer them the opportunity to broaden their skills and manage their career path. You will be responsible for the management and storage of data at the organisation and play a key role in the infrastructure team.

The ideal candidate will have strong SQL server, SSIS and SSRS experience, with some experience in Azure.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

• Responsible for the operational stability, performance, availability and reliability of organisations databases and other data structures (data warehouse, etc.)
• Define and develop solutions for data storage and management to respond to the needs of users and monitor user access and security.
• Monitor performance of data storage environments.
• Map out conceptual designs for planned databases.
• Consider both back-end organisation of data and front-end accessibility for end-users in all designs.
• Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security.

Key Skills of the role:

• Knowledge of all matters related to data and databases (including SQL, storage, data warehouse, data lake etc).
• Knowledge of Saas, Paas and Iaas solution architecture and impact on development.
• Technical understanding of on-premise and cloud-technologies (e.g Azure, SharePoint, Dynamics and Office365).
• Experience of utilising a best practices service management framework, to develop a value-adding approach to the delivery of IT infrastructure.

Salary

The salary for this position is up to £38,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits and pension.
