Salary dependent upon experience £40,000 - £60,000

Are you a competent leader with experience in the field of Oxide/Non Oxide Technology? If so my client a world leader in advanced materials development and production is looking to appoint a Work stream leader to head up their Oxides/Non Oxides divison.

Details of the Work Stream Leader -
· To ensure the company is at the forefront of oxides/non oxides materials science.
· To develop and own the technology roadmap for oxides/non oxides development, taking input from the businesses to ensure they are commercially driven and prioritised around business needs
· To understand the fundamental materials science that drives the product performance and delivers step change value and differentiation to our customers
· To ensure the material variables and their interaction are understood from raw materials through to consolidated product
· To act as the focal point for R+D relationships with our suppliers
· To develop a credible network of world experts in oxides/non oxides and to leverage government funding to support our developments where appropriate
· To deliver materials science and know how that can be scaled through the companies facilities around the globe
· To generate new intellectual property that can protect the companies investment and technology position
· To use Design of Experiments methodology to organise and carry out material science experimentation, production and mixing processing trials at laboratory, pilot and production scales
· To apply existing knowledge of materials and processes so as to maximise benefits to the business through increased distinctive competencies at minimum cost
· To develop quicker and more efficient routes and processes for materials development
· To identify, quantify and communicate improvement opportunities relating to materials science and manufacture
· To manage and develop a team of materials engineers, laboratory technicians and students
· To peer review others work to maintain technical standards

To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following:

· A leader at the forefront of oxides/non oxides ceramics field and acknowledged as such by the market and academia
· Possess a Ph.D or Masters in ceramics related discipline
· Global international links and knowledge of the academic leaders in your field
· Heading up and working on the next generation materials science and processing
· Leadership or supervisory experience
· Able to locate and exploit relevant technology from other industries
· Willing to travel nationally and internationally
· Have experience of some of the manufacturing processes executed across Morgan Technical Ceramics globally
· Prior experience of identifying and developing novel oxide/non-oxide materials science and scaling that into a production environment
· Understanding of ceramic science / engineering theory
· Able to lead multi-disciplinary work streams
· Commercial sensitivity
