CNC Miller / Setter Programmer

CNC Miller / Setter Programmer (MillBAEH) Shildon, England

Salary: GBP13.5 - GBP13.5 per hour + Overtime

RMS – Resource Management Solutions are currently recruiting an experienced CNC Miller able to set and programme for our client, a leading designer and developer of light engineered products, who supply to over 20 different countries across multiple industries and are growing rapidly year or year.

Working Hours are:

Monday to Thursday: 7.30am – 4.30pm

Friday: 7.30am – 1pm.

Job Purpose:

To carry out a wider range of specialist type assembly, machining, inspection and machine setting / programming tasks. Ensure that all relevant drawings, specification, tooling, fixtures and materials are available. Capable of working on your own initiative, with limited supervision.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  1. Responsible for efficiently meeting production work rate requirements allocated to you by following relevant procedures, documents, samples or instructions.
  2. To work as a member of a team to implement and complete all company working practises of health and safety.
  3. To be responsible for the quality of your work and report any non-compliant issues to your Team Leader / Manager.
  4. To provide training and support / advice to other employees within the department.
  5. Operate a variety machines including HAAS and utilising Fanuc control systems
  6. Ensure the stock of tooling is maintained and replacements made available.
  7. Ensure accurate usage reporting of consumable tooling.
  8. Record and report / investigate any issues relating material scarp or rework.
  9. Advise management of any methods or ideas for continuous improvement within the workplace.
  10. To develop production jigs or fixtures to ensure the most efficient method is carried out.
  11. Ensure that your work area housekeeping standard is maintained to the target of the department.
  12. To be capable of approving your own work and that of other employees.
  13. Complete the specialist task of reworking product to meet customer specification.
  14. To be capable of interpreting internal or customer drawings.
  15. To carry out any reasonable request made by your Team Leader or Manager.
  16. Deputising in the absence of the Team Leader.

To be considered this position you must:

  • Have experience operating and setting a CNC Miller, ideally a Hurco / Haas machine.
  • Be local to Bishop Auckland
