Our client is looking for an Associate Lecturer in Health and Social Care. You will be an experienced lecturer, able to deliver a high quality learning experience to students. You will ideally have experience of working with a diverse range of learners, have knowledge of the Edexcel Health & Social Care specifications and Health & Social Care Apprenticeships.
You will have a relevant level 4 qualification and preferably a degree (or equivalent) along with relevant experience. A PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification and experience, is desirable.

Description of duties
• To undertake teaching and learning related activities, as agreed.
• To ensure that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
• To undertake administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
• To contribute to the development of curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration Functional Skills development and equality and diversity.
• To participate in appropriate meetings as agreed with the curriculum area.
Essential Criteria - Experience, Qualifications and Knowledge:
• Level 4 (or equivalent) in a Health & Social Care related subject
• To obtain an appropriate teaching qualification as defined by Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK)
• Relevant industrial/commercial/subject experience
• Working knowledge of Apprenticeships
• Edexcel Health & Social Care specifications
• Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Powerpoint
• Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet targets and deadlines
• Ability to communicate to a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team
• IT and keyboard skills, including use of email
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour
• Ability to solve problems and make decisions
• Flexible in approach
• Innovative and creative in meeting the needs of learners
• Committed to student support
• To undertake continuing professional development as defined by the LLUK
• To become a member of the Institute for Learning and obtain ATLS or QTLS as required
• Satisfactorily meeting the College’s employment checks – an Independent Safeguarding Authority and/or Criminal Records Bureau check, health assessment, references, qualifications and legal entitlement to work in the UK

• Assessor or Verifier units
